The Associazione per il Bambino Nefropatico (Pediatric Kidney Patient Association, ABN) was founded in 1978 by a small group of Milanese businessmen and healthcare specialists who wanted to make up for the lack of a Pediatric Dialysis and Nephrology service in the modern city of Milan.
The Pediatric Nephrology and Dialysis Unit was designed and built with children in mind.
they are children with a kidney disease that may be due to a hereditary or acquired disease that is often immunological in nature, or to congental malformations of the kidneys or urinary pathways.
The many different types of kidney diseases vary widely in terms of seriousness and the possibility of permanent kidney damage. The most frequent are urinary tract infections which, in some cases, may hide malformations of the urinary pathways.
The main activity of ABN ONLUS is to support the Pediatric Nephrology and Dialysis Unit and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit project.

ABN is a Socially Useful Non-profit Making Association (ONLUS in Italian) and so, on the basis of Art. 14, comma 1, of Legislative Decree No. 35/2005, converted into Law No. 80/2005, liberal contributions in money or in kind made by people or companies by means of a bank, post office or credit card are deductible within the limit of 10% of the declared total income of the contributor up to a maximum amount of € 70,000.00.
